Compal is pleased to announce the demonstration the latest 5G Open RAN energy-saving private network solutions with Microsoft and NXP® Semiconductors at MWC 2023, Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The first ARM® based 4T4R O-RU, and DU Inline acceleration card offload the DU Server CPUs intensive processing for standard COTS, and OCU/ODU with acceleration card is fully integrated. The solution aims to address the demands of next generation networks, simplify deployments and lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by delivering high-performance and 50% energy-saving 5G network.
Compal provides variety of 5G RAN- small cell based solution, an innovative full stack end-to-end private 5G solution, which leverages the latest Layerscape® portfolio from NXP® Semiconductors. The Layerscape multicore processors provide high levels of integration and leverage Arm 64-bit cores, while the Layerscape Access programmable baseband processors provide advanced flexibility via programmable engines for PHY/baseband processing. The overall system delivers efficient, scalable performance exceeding 1Gbps data rates via software-defined radio implementation.. The solution combines Microsoft Azure Private 5G Core with Compal’ All-In-One Small cell, CU/DU/RU, AI/ML orchestration and plenty choices of CPE/UE. Compal Private 5G starter kit is designed for zero touch provisioning along with the Azure Private 5G Core, deployed with Modern Connected Applications on Azure private MEC, which makes Private 5G implementation and management simple . Compal’s Private 5G customers proved increased productivity and efficiency around the world and across industries, 5G, augmented and virtual reality, AI, IoT, and edge computing are creating opportunities for rapid digital transformation. The Private 5G Solution is now available in Microsoft Azure MarketPlace.
