Actor Rukaiya Jahan Chamak has been banned from working in the entertainment industry for three months by the Directors’ Guild. This suspension will begin on September 1 and will continue for the next three months.
Kamruzzaman Sagar, general secretary of the Directors’ Guild, announced the decision this morning at a press conference.
In a written statement, he stated that, as per the decision of the Directors’ Guild executive members, actor Rukaiya Jahan Chamak will not be able to work with any producers for the next three months following the substantiated allegations against her. She is also restricted from engaging in any work in television and digital media during this period. She was instructed to complete any pending work by the end of this month.
“Many such unspeakable incidents have occurred where makeup artists and production crew members have been physically assaulted or harassed in a similar manner, which often goes unreported. None of these can be accepted in any way,” said Kamruzzaman Sagar.
The association has also informed that, by August 30, Chamak must provide compensation for the damages caused during the shooting of the drama “Shoshur Barite Prothom Din”. Additionally, she must withdraw the general diary filed against Arosh Khan and Adif Hasan. Strict actions will be taken against her otherwise.

Earlier this month, chaos erupted on the sets of the television project “Shoshur Barite Prothom Din”, when female lead Rukaiya Jahan Chamak allegedly harassed her co-artistes verbally at a shooting house in the capital’s Uttara. Apparently, the actress not only verbally accosted her elderly co-star Masum Basher, but there were also claims of her allegedly trying to hit the actor.
