Walton manufactures world’s first fire extinguisher integrated TV

As a part of its continuous efforts for introducing innovative products with advanced technologies and features, Bangladesh’s leading electronics brand Walton has invented and manufactured world’s first extinguisher integrated television. 

German Ambassador in Bangladesh Achim Troster, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director and CEO Golam Murshed unveiled Walton made world first extinguisher integrated TV at a grand unveiling program held at Walton Corporate Office in the capital on Wednesday (October 12, 2022).

The German envoy also handed over the certificate of world’s first fire extinguisher integrated television manufacturer to Walton. 

The function was also attended by, among others, JOB Gmbh’s Senior Business Development Manager Markus Fiebig, AI Business Solution Malaysia’s Director Md. Arifuzzaman, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Additional Managing Director Abul Bashar Hawlader, Deputy Managing Director Nazrul Islam Sarker, Eva Rizwana Nilu and Md. Humayun Kabir, Senior Executive Director SM Zahid Hasan, Walton TV’s Chief Business Officer Engineer Mostafa Nahid Hossain and other senior officials of the company.

Addressing the function, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Managing Director and CEO Golam Murshed said, “We are working to make Bangabandhu’s dream of golden Bangladesh come true. Aspiring to be a bold leader among the top 5 global E&E brands by 2030 is our target now. E-blub device integrated fire safety Walton TV is aligned to achieve our vision 2030. Our aim is to increase the safety of Walton Television and other appliance. E-bulb fire safety electric device will increase our product safety and brand value. So by ensuring our product and our customers’ safety Walton television will boost globally as top electronic brand. This will help us to achieve vision 2030.”

German Ambassador Achim Troster said, “We unveiled the world’s first fire extinguisher integrated TV invented by Walton while we are celebrating 50 years of German recognition of Bangladesh’s independence. Bangladesh has made an impressive progress mainly in the past 15 years. Bangladesh is transforming from the least developed to middle income country. Walton Group is one of the lighthouses of the Bangladesh economic progress. Walton is changing the picture of Bangladesh and also branding the country as the manufacturing hub of hi-tech products like refrigerator, TV and so many products. Walton is taking ahead the present friendly relationship between Germany and Bangladesh through establishing business relation with German enterprise to export Bangladesh made hi-tech television in the German market.”

Walton TV’s CBO Engineer Mostafa Nahid Hossain said, “Electric short circuit is responsible for one third of the fire incident in a home. Due to voltage fluctuation or overload, electric short circuit and some other reasons, fire incident occurred in electronics device. To mitigate fire incident caused by a television, Walton TV Research and Innovation (R&I) center’s engineers produced world’s first fire extinguisher integrated technology’s television. Newly designed Walton TV’s main PCB includes E-Blub mini fire extinguisher inside PCBA Hot zone (fire source of origin) to extinguish fire before the fire spreads and to make sure fire safety. The E-Bulb is a fire-extinguishing fuse and consists of a coated glass ampoule filled with non-toxic extinguishing agent. When a fire breaks out in TV motherboard, the E-Bulb recognizes and extinguishes as well as interrupt the power supply. The E-Bulb won the 2020 UK Safety Innovation Awards for the best innovative.” 

It may be noted that Walton is now exporting ‘Made in Bangladesh’ labeled TV to more than 35 countries through its hundreds of global business partners. The European market holds almost 95 percent of the total exports of Walton TV.

BSEC chairman Shibli Rubayat resigns

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul Islam resigned today.

He sent his resignation letter to the official concerned at the finance ministry.

He stepped down citing health reasons, said Abdur Rahman, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, confirming receipt of the letter.

The development came five days after Sheikh Hasina’s government fell and she fled Bangladesh in the face of a civil uprising.

Islam has remained absent from work for the past several days.

Islam, a Dhaka University teacher, was appointed as chairman of the BSEC in 2020. Last May, he was reappointed for another four-year tenure.
