Md. Mojahidul Islam, ICT Editor of the Daily Ittefaq and President of the Bangladesh Journalist Forum (BIJF), has been awarded the Prominent ICT Journalist Award 2022 for his contributions to ‘Digital Bangladesh’ in two categories: print and online media.
This award is the biggest award for the Journalist associated with the country’s ICT industry.
The award was presented by State Minister for the ICT Division, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, during a ceremony at the Software Technology Park, Janata Tower, Kawran Bazar, on August 4, 2022.
Zunaid Ahmed stated, “Journalists play an important role in paving the way for a better future for young people.” He urged young journalists to make their reports succinct while being more detailed and precise.
ICT Division Senior Secretary NM Zeaul Alam presided over the event virtually, while the Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary, Hasan Jahid Tushar, delivered the welcome address.
Among the attendees were Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, jury board member and Editor of DBC News Zayedul Ahsan Pintu, BSS Managing Editor Anisur Rahman, and officials from the ICT Division and Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority.
A jury board evaluated 300 reports published on ‘Digital Bangladesh’ or Vision 2031, one of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s ten initiatives, across various print, electronic, and online media.
The reports were based on the Digital World, the largest ICT exposition in the country, which is part of a collaborative effort between the ICT Division and the BIJF. Mojahidul Islam has also been involved in the Connecting Startups Bangladesh initiative of the Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority.

I felt elated to have received the award from the Minister for the ICT Division of Bangladesh, Zunaid Ahmed Palak. This is the biggest award for ICT Journalist in our country. Such recognition from the state level inspires an Journalist to work harder.
