The award ceremony of ‘IPv6 deployment workshop” took place in 3rd September 2022 at the Lakeshore Hotel in Dhaka, during the closing session of a day-long workshop organized by LBNOA. The honor was officially handed over by Md. Imdadul Haque, President of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), and Fuad Muhammad Sharfuddin, President of LBNOA.

Several prominent figures from Bangladesh’s ICT and digital ecosystem attended the event. Among them were Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan, General Secretary of ISPAB; A.M. He further noted Mojahidul’s significant role in raising public awareness about internet penetration and broadband expansion—key drivers of Bangladesh’s digital economy and national GDP growth.

Echoing this sentiment, Fuad Muhammad Sharfuddin, President of LBNOA, said:

“Mojahidul’s award-winning work on last-mile broadband coverage and investigative reporting has set a new benchmark in ICT journalism. His efforts have simplified complex digital issues for the general public, raising awareness about digital equity, infrastructure development, and internet accessibility across both urban and rural communities.”

In his acceptance speech, Mojahidul Islam expressed deep gratitude, saying:

“I am truly honored to receive this award. It reflects my dedication and commitment to journalism—and fuels my continued reporting for the ‘Internet for All’ initiative.”

Mojahidul highlighted the need for affordable data plans, enhanced network infrastructure, and collaborative stakeholder engagement to develop a strong, inclusive national broadband policy for Bangladesh.
