Moushumi Hamid, a popular face on television, started her career as the first runner-up of the Lux Channel I Superstar contest back in 2010. From then on, she has been a leading performer, collecting praises in the entertainment industry.
Moushumi Hamid’s web series, “Tekka” was released on Bioscope, recently. The production, directed by Mahadi Hasan Tinku also features Shamol Mawla, Sabnam Faria, and Rawnak Ripon, among others.
“Tekka” has earned much appreciation from the audience. The actress’s close ones have also congratulated her via phone calls while the web series continues to receive praises on social media platforms.
“To be honest, Maya, from ‘Tekka’, is my first web-film character,” she smiles. “Many have even started calling me Maya and that’s what overwhelms me.”
Meanwhile, Moushumi Hamid has also signed up for two more web films, “Rupkotha Noy” and “Kalpo”. She plays the role of a corporate woman in “Rupkotha Noy” and appears as a lady police officer in “Kalpo”.
“I have done three different characters in these three web productions,” shares the noted actress Moushumi Hamid. “I am playing the role of a police officer in ‘Kalpo’ and I hope this turns out to be a remarkable production.”
It has been over a decade since this actress entered the showbiz industry. The artiste has thoroughly enjoyed her OTT project. “I feel very good about the OTT platform,” she says. “OTT films place much importance on the narrative of the story and it was a notable experience for me indeed.”
Moushumi Hamid’s performance in “Jalaler Golpo” (2014) had earned her much appreciation from the audience. The film even won several awards at many film festivals abroad. The actress’s last work was the film, “The Grave” (2020). Her other notable works include “Jalaler Golpo” (2014), “Mental” (2016), “Purnodoirgho Prem Kahini 2” (2016), and “Blackmail” (2015), among many others.
Moushumi Hamid is also set to appear in the new film “1971 Shei Shob Din” directed by the Hridi Haq.
After appearing in many romantic dramas and films, Moushumi Hamid is now focusing more on the story and the character. “I want to forget myself every day and to immerse myself into the new characters,” shares Moushumi Hamid.Moushumi Hamid currently directing all her focus and time in dramas, cinemas, and web films. “I want to do more story-focused work,” she concludes.
